Vermont issues e-waste RFP

Vermont is looking for proposals from waste management and recycling firms to take on a two-year contract managing electronic waste in the northeastern US state.

Proposals to the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) are for “collection, transportation and recycling of electronic waste collected under the state e-waste program,” which runs October 2014 through September 30, 2016.

ANR came under fire in 2013 over allegations that its request for proposal (RFP) process was flawed when it signed on Casella Waste Systems to handle the state’s electronic waste.

Bids for the upcoming RFP need to be submitted by noon on May 9, 2014.
