Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to review its procedures for industry stewardship plans (ISPs).

The RFP was sparked by a request from the Ontario Minister of the Environment for WDO to undertake a review of its policy and procedures for ISPs.

This request is outlined in a February 9, 2012 letter, which is available at http://www.wdo.ca/files/domain4116/Minister%20Direction%20Letter%20to%20WDO%20Feb%209%202012%20-%20signed.pdf

WDO is seeking the services of a consulting firm to conduct a review of its current submission, review and approval policies and procedures for ISPs, and develop recommendations on how this entire process can be streamlined, while at the same time ensuring the process meets the requirements of the Ontario Waste Diversion Act, 2002.
RFPs will be accepted until April 20, 2012.
