The Ontario Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) recently announced that it is partnering with Solid Waste & Recycling magazine and the Ontario Public Works Association (OPWA) to host the Sixth Canadian Waste Symposium at the Marriott Gateway on the Falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario from April 22 to 25, 2012.
Solid Waste & Recycling magazine is the official media partner of the symposium, while the OPWA will host technical sessions on April 24, 2012.
OPWA members will also be entitled to register at the same rate as SWANA members.
The symposium will break into streams of:
-landfill, recycling, composting, and extended producer responsibility (EPR);
-post-consumer materials management and markets;
-alternative thermal and organic digestion technologies;
-rural and northern waste management issues;
-communication, education and marketing of waste diversion programs.
The event will also contain featured tours, including the Niagara Waste Systems Landfill, the Resolute Forest Products (Abitibi) Pulp & Papermill, and the Niagara Region MRF.
