The Municipal Waste Association’s Spring Workshop and Annual General Meeting is set for May 14 – 16, 2013, with Ontario

Ontario Minister of the Environment Jim Bradley leads a solid list of guest speakers. He will be the first speaker at the workshop sessions on Wednesday, May 15 at Hockley Valley Resort near Orangeville.

Also scheduled to add their thoughts on waste issues in Ontario will be PC Environment Critic Michael Harris, Jonah Schein of the NDP and Green Party of Ontario leader Mike Schreiner.

Other confirmed speakers include Usman Valiante from the Corporate Policy Group, Michael Scott; Chief Executive Officer of Waste Diversion Ontario; and representatives from Stewardship Ontario, Ontario Electronic Stewardship and Ontario Tire Stewardship.

Registration for the two days or sessions, May 15 and 16, is $395 for MWA members and $495 for non-members. Registration for the MWA/Busch Systems Spring Classic Golf Tournament on May 14 is $150 ($200). All fees are subject to HST.

Registration information is available at the MWA website (www.municipalwaste.ca), as is a sponsor’s prospectus. Potential attendees are encouraged to register early and to book their rooms at the resort as the event is expected to sellout.
