The City of Kingston has issued a Request for Information (ROI) for alternative technologies to process residual municipal solid waste in the vibrant and diverse community of 125,000.
In accordance with the waste management hierarchy endorsed by Kingston City Council, City staff they would like to explore opportunities to recover more materials and energy from waste as a means to enhance its current diversion programs and reduce long term reliance on landfill disposal.
The objective of the Request for Information is to assess the interest and capacity available in the marketplace to potentially implement an alternative residual waste processing technology for the City.
The ROI deadline for receipt of submissions is September 25, 2013.
