There was no wasted thought in this design process.
The Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) has unveiled its new logo to replace the one it developed in 2002. OWMA says its new logo has been under development over the past few months as an extension of its strategic planning and vision process.
“The logo reinforces the OWMA 'brand' while reflecting the new broader waste sector membership and representation,” said OWMA CEO, Rob Cook, in an announcement September 4, 2012.
The logo also changes the association’s colour scheme from the familiar yellow and blue to the more earthy-looking blue and green.

According to the design and marketing firm responsible for the logo redesign, “The OWMA brand represents active, eco-friendly waste management practices which creates a cleaner environment for us all.”
The style guide for the new logo continues that the new design “communicates…support of innovation in technology, responsibility, promoting new standards, and…leadership in Canadian environmental protection through the proper management of waste and recyclable materials.”
