New Quebec compost, AD facilities seek tech info from firms

The City of Laval is planning the construction of two new organic treatment facilities in Quebec.

To facilitate a technological review of available technologies, the City of Laval (a population of 400,000) is requesting information and inviting specialized firms to send documentation about their firm, partners, equipment and accomplishments.

The new anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities include:

• one anaerobic digestion plant (65,000 tpy) mainly to treat municipal sludge, but also for sorted organics from residential and commercial areas

• one composting plant (50,000 tpy) to treat sorted organics from residential and commercial areas. The biogas could be used in sludge dryers, on site or injected into the natural gas grid (GAZ METRO).

Answers from the interested suppliers should be transmitted, in French or English before February 12, 2013 to :
