The Compost Council of Canada is offering a workshop in Mississauga, Ontario to help industry players brush up on new composting regulations.
In addition to a selection of great guest speakers such as a keynote luncheon address featuring Dr. Lambert Otten, Scientific Technical Advisor with the The Compost Council of Canada, the January 22, 2013 workshop includes a focus on updated standards and guidelines for feedstock and compost.
The workshop includes: guidance on the planning and development of a composting facility; best management practices for composting facilities including odour prevention and control; guidance on feedstock and compost sampling and laboratory analysis; and discussion of compost use requirements and considerations.
There will be updates on the current regulatory review of the Fertilizers Act and Regulations and the Compost Industry’s COMPOST QUALITY ALLIANCE program.
The workshop runs from 9:30 to 4 p.m.
