This week, the new garbage limit came into effect in London, essentially lowering your allowed limit from four containers to three containers. Keep in mind that one container can hold two or three bags, so long as the container weight is no higher than 20 kg or 44 lbs. Enforcement of the three-container limit will begin in January and if you can't follow the rules, your trash will remain on the curb.
Just like with any change, you’ll hear a lot of resistance. There are concerns that people will start hoarding garbage, or that their families are too big. Or they have children in diapers. They have too many pets and that rubbish like kitty litter takes up all of their garbage entitlement.
