Ontario Environment Minister Jim Bradley and well-known environmental lawyer Dianne Saxe lead a long list of speakers in May at the Municipal Waste Association’s (MWA’s) 2012 Spring Workshop and Annual General Meeting.
A veteran at Queen’s Park, Bradley will be the first keynote speaker as the workshop sessions open on Wednesday, May 16 at Hockley Valley Resort near Orangeville, Ontario.
Leading off the afternoon sessions will be Dianne Saxe. Saxe has been a lawyer for more than 30 years and has headed her own law firm since 1991. She will be adding her perspective on the Ontario government’s management of the waste file.
Other confirmed speakers include Michael Scott, CEO of Waste Diversion Ontario; Usman Valiante from the Corporate Policy Group; Phil Zigby, John Watson, Alec Scott, Paul van der Werf, and Michael Cant.
The Wednesday night dinner will feature a 25th anniversary theme. Kim Kidd Kitagawa from Waterloo Region has produced an anniversary video and Ben Bennett will give a humorous presentation on the history of the MWA through its newsletter front pages.
Registration for the two days of sessions, May 16 and 17, is $375 for MWA members and $475 for non-members. Registration for the MWA Spring Classic Golf Tournament on May 15 is $150 for MWA members and $200 for non-members.
