Recycling in the Burk’s Falls region has jumped more than 60 per cent since the start of 2016.
The Township of Armour, Village of Burk’s Falls and Township of Ryerson shipped out a combined 69.45 metric tonnes of recycling (steel, aluminum, plastic, glass and tin) from January to August of 2016. During that same time span last year the three municipalities only shipped away 43.43 metric tonnes.
The increase is thanks to a new bylaw, which came into effect on Jan. 1, making clear garbage bags mandatory in Armour, Burk’s Falls and Ryerson. read more >>
