The City of Hamilton’s waste management complex faced a multi-alarm fire on Aug. 31.

The Hamilton Fire Department says the fire “appears to have started in a front end loader and caused damage to the structure and a conveyor system,” according to a report from the Hamilton Spectator, which also noted that smoke came from a building used for the storage of finished compost material from green bins.

No estimates of damages have been reported.
