The global electronic scrap (e-scrap) market will quadruple by 2019, a new market report estimates.

According to Transparency Market Research’s Electronic Recycling (Copper, Steel, Plastic resins) Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast 2013 - 2019, the e-scrap market will jump from 9.8 billion in 2012, to 41.3 billion by 2019.

In terms of volume, the market was 48.43 million tonnes in 2012. It’s forecasted to reach 141.05 million tonnes by 2019.

The report found that in terms of volume, Europe was the largest recycler of e-waste, and Asia Pacific is expected to be the fastest growing market for electronic recycling during the forecast period.

Out of all equipment recycled, computers were the largest segment in 2012, and are forecasted to maintain dominance in the future.

In terms of revenue, recycled steel accounted for 33.7 per cent of the global electronic recycling market in 2012.

People need to realise that almost anything can be responsibly recycled to keep it out of the trash and ultimately out of landfill. Items such as clothes and in particular electronic devices and cell phones can be sold to recyclers such as http://www.sellmycellphones.com who will not only pay you cash for them but will then recycle them responsibly to help our environment. The more we recycle the better the planet will be.
