Waste-to-biofuels and chemicals company, Enerkem Inc., is set to hold a job recruitment day for more than 30 permanent positions, the company has announced.

Enerkem will be holding the recruitment day at the Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre on October 27, 2012.

Enerkem, through its subsidiary Enerkem Alberta Biofuels, is seeking managers, engineers, operators, technicians and administrative personnel.

"These are exciting times for us at Enerkem", said Enerkem President and CEO Vincent Chornet in a statement to media. "Construction of our new plant is well underway. Major pieces of industrial equipment have already been installed, and we are now hiring the future employees of our subsidiary in Edmonton."

The parent company's demonstration facility in Westbury, Quebec, will play a key role in providing technical training and assistance to some of the new hires, Enerkem officials say.

The Enerkem Alberta Biofuels facility, which is among the first full-scale advanced biofuels facilities to be built in North America, will use the City of Edmonton's landfill-bound waste to locally create renewable fuels and chemicals.

Details on current openings at Enerkem Alberta Biofuels are available at www.enerkem.com.
