Emterra Group CEO Emmie Leung recently announced that a 25-year veteran of the Canadian waste management industry, Scott Wolfe of Newmarket, Ontario, has been appointed Vice President of Operations, Ontario at Emterra Environmental.

“We are very pleased to welcome Scott to Emterra,” says Leung. “Scott brings a wealth of experience in fleet management and material recovery facility operations, both of which are business priorities at Emterra. His experience combined with a solid history of successful business development in the waste management industry made him an ideal choice for our new vice president position.”

Emterra Environmental is a Canadian leader in providing integrated resource management solutions for achieving Zero Waste.

With a particular emphasis on single stream recycling, Emterra Environmental has 12 Blue Box Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) across Canada. It provides recyclables collection, processing and marketing services, as well as source separated organics, yard waste, and solid waste collection services to municipalities of varying sizes and complexities and the industrial, commercial, institutional sector.

Wolfe is best known throughout Ontario for his long association with the Miller Group, where he served most recently as vice president of transit and business development, as well as corporate manager of waste management facilities.

Prior to that, he held increasingly more prominent management positions with BFI in the U.S. and Canada.

As Emterra’s VP of Ontario Operations, Wolfe will be responsible for the overall management and expansion of the company’s municipal and industrial, commercial, and institutional material collection and recovery operations throughout the province.

He will work closely with other senior managers, including Paulina Leung, Business Development Manager. Part of his mandate includes developing strategies to take advantage of opportunities arising from pending changes in extended producer responsibility in Ontario.

“Emmie Leung and the senior management team of Emterra have an impressive record of building a successful national resource management company from the ground up,” says Wolfe. “Emterra’s corporate culture encourages innovative thinking and an entrepreneurial approach to business development. It’s the type of environment that I find highly motivating. I’m looking forward to making a contribution to Emterra’s growth in Ontario.”
