A trio of Winnipeg city councillors stood up Friday to shoot back at city administration they say hasn’t done its due diligence in searching for a viable waste management contract.
A report going to the city’s water and waste management committee on Monday recommends eight-year contracts be awarded to Miller Waste Systems and GFL Environmental to service one quadrant each starting in October 2017.
Coun. Ross Eadie (Mynarski) said the administration hasn’t put together a business case to compare whether the city could potentially do the work for cheaper in at least one of the zones. read more >>
