CHARGES LAID: Want to buy some scrap metal?

A Florida landfill employee in the area of Daytona Beach faces charges of grand theft, dealing in stolen property and violation of the Secondary Metal recyclers Act, after allegedly selling more than two tonnes of scrap metal from his employer’s facility.

Korey Woulard, 44, was arrested by Volusia County investigators on February 23, 2014, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Investigators said the accused sold 3,485 pounds of copper, brass and batteries since August 2014. The materials are estimnated to be worth nearly $4,000.

Woulard has posted bail and awaits his day in court on the charges.
