After an extensive search, Advanced Disposal Services Inc. has selected northeast Florida as its new corporate headquarters.
The headquarters move is expected to create 85 new jobs and a capital investment of approximately $4 million, the company said of its new digs at at 90 Fort Wade Rd., Ponte Vedra, Fla. 32081 in St. Johns County.
“The decision was not an easy one, and it ultimately came down to what was the best business decision for the company in terms of state and local financial incentives, corporate and individual income taxes, relocation expenses, negotiated office space fees and a region-wide business friendly environment,” said Advanced Disposal CEO Charlie Appleby in a statement to media on December 13, 2012. “Advanced Disposal was created in northeast Florida, and as we celebrate our 12th anniversary, we are proud to announce that it will remain our corporate home for years to come benefitting the company and all northeast Florida counties.”
Advance Disposal also considered opportunities in Atlanta, Charlotte and Milwaukee, the company said.
With the consolidation of Interstate Waste Services and Veolia ES Solid Waste into Advanced Disposal, the company more than tripled in size, geographic footprint and revenues, and was in need of a new corporate headquarters facility to house expansions.
The company will be leasing approximately 56,000 square feet. The building was built in 2009 and has been classified as a Category 5 hurricane strength building with state-of-the-art information technology wiring infrastructure and all furnishings already in place to allow for immediate occupancy. It is located in Nocatee, a mixed development community on the St. Johns and Duval County line.
Advanced Disposal will have regional offices in the following cities: Roswell, Ga. (South Region), Charlotte (East Region) and Batavia, Ill. (Central/Midwest Region). Certain corporate functions will remain in Milwaukee, Wis.
