Sims Recycling's Nevada plant receives oh&s certification

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world's largest electronics recycler, has a dedicated health and safety department whose primary focus is environmental, health and safety management. Through hard work, training and preparation, its Reno, Nevada facility has become the first ISO 14001 certified Sims Recycling Solutions facility in the United States to earn and receive OHSAS 18001 certification.

OHSAS 18001 certification covers companies that are proactive in occupational health and safety management. This certification is an international standard that outlines requirements related to the health and safety of all within the workplace.

"We are very proud to be the first Sims Recycling Solutions facility in the United States to achieve this certification," says Josh Macauley, Reno plant manager. "The certification reflects the considerable efforts made by our employees over the last few months to further improve our already very high safety standards."

Sims Recycling is the world's largest electrical and electronics recovery and recycling company with 37 sites across the globe.

In North America, the company operates 11 sites in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Ontario, South Carolina and Tennessee.
