On May 20, 2009 the Michigan Recycling Coalition elected Jack Iwema to their Board of Directors. Iwema's career in the environmental services sector spans 35 years through various aspects in the solid waste, scrap, septic waste, and electronic waste industries. Jack is the General Manager of GEEP Michigan located in Warren, MI.

GEEP Michigan is the midwest affiliate of GEEP Global with headquarters in Barrie, Ontario, Canada and one of the largest, most technologically advanced, integrated, e-waste asset management companies in the world providing full national and international asset return and management services. With proprietary software and equipment, complimented by a strict adherence to ISO standards, GEEP recycles electronic waste, wire & cable into commodities with a zero landfill objective.

The Michigan Recycling Coalition is based in Lansing, Michigan, and is a non-profit educational organization, bringing together members from government, institutions, businesses and citizens with the common goal of promoting sound resource management through source reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting in Michigan.

The appointment reflects the growing concern for proper management of electronic waste in Michigan.
